‘Bringing art from the gallery into the public domain’ will be the aim of 38-year-old artist Kelly Towle when she sets up her stall at the Erdingcraft Fayre on Saturday. She will be inviting those who want to have fun to take part in her latest project – ‘Pom Pom Republic’ – creating individual pom poms for a major project to be installed in the summer. Some CAFE arts folk have already contributed a pom pom or two during a recent creativity evening at Oikos.
Says Kelly, who lives in Stechford: “Engaging with communities is an under-appreciated yet formidable method of transmission; whether politically, artistically or just socially, there’s greater strength in numbers and few better feelings than collective achievement. This fayre will provide a wonderful opportunity to interact and collaborate as well as help raise money for my end-of-degree show.”
